In order to make this site manageable and target specific types of activities that would please most of our users and vendors, we are restricting registration to ACTIVITO or City Activities OnLine organizations and groups that are in line with our mission statement. .A list of all types of activities is found on the main search screen.

Basic Requirements and Legal Obligations
Who can register activities?
Only the authorized personnel can approve and/or register an activity, an event or a promotion. If you are aware of an activity, please email us the details.

Since this is a public information service, each organization or individual posting activities is legally responsible for their publicity and communications. See the legal disclaimer for activity providers.
When to register
You must allow a minimum of 3 business days to have your organization accepted as new registrant. Some filtering and/or investigation may be required to maintain high quality of information. However, you will be able to create your activities immediately. As soon as your account is open and accepted, then all your eligible activities become available to the public.

Why register
Nowadays, there are many regulations that must be met. Also, in order to maintain a high standard of quality information, we want to know who we are dealing with. Registration on our site is really an extension of your organization with regards to publicizing your activities.
Account Creation, Update and Deletion
Creation
Guidelines We have several departments in our organization – should we create several accounts? From our standpoint, it does not make a difference. Please make sure to manage all the accounts to avoid duplication and confusions. Each ad has its own personality in terms of address, content, and link to an Internet site or page. What if we have activities in multiple sites? Same as above. We suggest you have a centralized strategy. Each activity can have its own location information and details. However, volume and practicality may dictate separate accounts. Are you checking that the organization which created the account is indeed the organization that has the authority to open the account and publish the activity? As much as possible, we will follow-up with an organization ensuring they are who they say they are. The creator of the account must reply to e-mail shown on the account before activation. However, we cannot guarantee 100% compliance. There are laws that protect each organization including defamation and fraud. Each organization is still responsible to monitor what’s being done and said of them. Also, we do track some of the electronic information on the creator of the account. Any attempt to defraud the system will immediately be reported to authorities. Filling out the questionnaire How often should I change my password? We recommend that you change your password at least once a month to minimize risks. What if we lose our password? If you lose the account name and password, we will forward it to the email address that was provided at the time of account creation. If the email is returned to us undelivered, we will freeze the account and all the activities. An official from your organization will then have to contact us to restore the account. How many accounts can we create? Reasonability is the rule. If there are inefficiencies or abuse of the system, we will communicate with you.
Update
Some account information is not updateable; such as name of organization. Any such change would require the creation of another account. Then you could close/delete your account, which will automatically cancel all your related activity listings.
Delete/Close
As soon as you close or delete the account, the activity listings already listed will be deleted as well. There is no way of undeleting or re-opening the account and activity listings once an account is closed. Please make sure you assign your account responsibilities adequately to someone responsible.

Guidelines We have multiple activities: Can we speed up the listing process? Semi-automated process
  1. This process would likely be used if the same activity is on for a couple of days or weeks in a row. For instance, a Seminar held every Monday night at 7pm on a different topic every week.
  2. Once you have logged into your account and successfully created an activity,
  3. Then click the back button on your browser.
  4. Second, change whatever info and submit again.
  5. Repeat for each series of activities.

Large volume of data can be used through spreadsheets and other tools. Just contact us with your need. on your browser.
Fully Automated process
  1. This process is used to create an activity for many days or weeks in a row – for instance, a Movie schedule for the next 52 weeks.
  2. If you want to change the topic/title of the movie from week to week, you may update the activity record with the appropriate changes.
Is there a limit on the number of activities created for a single account? No. This is however a question of management of activities. The use of mass creation of activities, although very useful and fast, has also the high risk of making many mistakes. Let's repeat that there is no refund once the ads are created. If there is major error, you must contact us immediately.
Can we create activities in other languages besides English and French? The short answer is "no" for the time being since we want to maintain a site that is user friendly and easy to navigate. However, we are working at making navigation and simultaneous translation of ads up to 25 languages. Are there activities that are not permitted to be published? Each organization is responsible for the content of their activities. Any activity listing that discriminates according to the law of the land is subject to possible questioning, sanctions, penalties, etc., from various legal entities.
As far as our site is concerned, activities promoting pornography, drugs, alcohol, violence, obscenity and the like will not be allowed. As a rule of thumb, we would rely on standards used for public television and display. An organization that derogates from these rules may find its account terminated.
However, if you have seminars on the use of drugs, alcohol, sex, etc. that is according to basic moral principles from an education or information perspective – you will be allowed to publish it.
The wording of any activity listing must use proper and clean language (as would a responsible parent) although we do understand that there are exceptions to all rules. In case of doubt, please contact us and we will be delighted to assist you. Finally, we are screening out words and expression. There might be a delay in the public display of your activity records until we validate them.

User Section
Legal/Practical Obligations
Can I print a listing of activities and distribute it? You may print any listing for personal use only. You may distribute a listing or specific activity listing to family members, relatives, friends, neighbors. No commercial avenues are authorized (sale, resale, transfer). See the user disclaimer. Are the activities listed "safe" for anyone, including kids? We are a public information listing service only and therefore we do not get involved in the organizations and activities they provide. You must use common sense for any activities you want your kids to participate in. Check the organization especially for the first time. Are the activities listed up to date? We suggest that you verify activities for last minute changes. Each organization is responsible for updating their activities. Conversely, if you see that some activities that are inaccurate or out of date, please advise the organization for update. If I see an activity that is doubtful or out of place, who do I contact? There are 2 choices. You may contact the organization listing the activity and/or contact us by email and let us know as soon as possible. I am not an organization, but I know of an activity that should be listed, what can I do to let you know? If the activity is legitimate according to the principles listing on this site, please let us know by email a minimum of seven days ahead of time with all the details. We might then publish it ourselves.

However, it would be best if you contacted the organization and let them know of our site. This would also be a service to the entire community.

Location A zip or postal code OR a city/state-province must be provided before generating activities
Radius is limited to 100 miles in the USA only. Using the radius will slow down the results display as it has to find all the cities within this radius. In Canada, please use the postal code with the first one, two, three or 6 digits of the postal code.
Activity When an activity provider creates the activity record, s/he can put other keywords/expressions to help the user find the activity. For instance, an exhibit talking about a seminar talking about quitting smoking would likely have keywords like: tobacco, deliverance. Generic names should always be used. Types of activities You select a type of activities among the list. If an activity type does not appear, it is either because it is not popular enough to be on its own. You may always submit a request to add a type of activities. Age An activity record contains “from” “to” age. When you put an age number in this field, it will pick up all the activities that would fit the “from-to” age interval. As it stands Children are 0-12, Teens are 13-19, Singles/Adults 20-64, Seniors 50+, Family 0-99. Date and time The default date and time is our servers' date and time. The search results will list all the activities STARTING at the date and time you indicated.
National/International
This will list the national and international events. The creator of the events must indicate in which state(s)/citi(es) the event(s) will occur.

Technical
I obtain slow response time when searching activities. If you use radius, you must expect slower response time. The higher the radius, the longer the search may take.
Since our service is dynamically updated and picture driven, the response time can sometimes be a little slower.

I have printing problems. We are using Internet Explorer and Firefox browser capabilities. It is very unlikely that we would have anything to do with printing a listing. Please consult your printer manual, operating system manual, or browser manual, or contact your technical service. The screen display is not optimum OR not all the columns are not displayed on the screen. You can adjust the resolution of your screen. By default we make sure it meets the 800x600 resolution screens. You may also change the size of your font (text). I click an activity link, and the browser doesn't respond. In some instances, this can occur. It has nothing to do with our site from a technical perspective. Often a linked site may have features that are not supported by your browser and/or operating system. The best solution is to avoid linking with the link and to call the organization to let them know.
